Why I became a coach: I love football but was always reluctant to get involved. I started helping in sessions now and again and then knew it was for me. I went and did my Level One qualification, helped out as much and with as many teams as I could and when a manager was needed, I decided to take it on.

Why I remain a coach: Being around the team. They always make me laugh and bring back so many memories from when I played at their age. I want to make it a fun and memorable journey. With coaching you also meet plenty of people who share your passion for the game and also bump into people you played with 25 years ago!

Proudest moment: I am proud of the team every week, they work so hard. What impresses me most though is seeing how they react to a set back. I know the kids want to win but I love seeing how they overcome disappointment. We have had kids miss a penalty and then be brave enough to take the next one, goalkeepers make a mistake and then recover to make couple of quality saves etc.  How they respond tells me a lot about the type of person they will become and I couldn't be prouder of them.

Hopes for the club: I hope our team stays together right through to U16s at least. Our squad is largely made up of the same players we started with at U7s and I hope they stay friends and always look out for each other they way they do on the pitch. I hope the club finds a long term home and the future of the club is secure. There are so many good people who are working so hard to bring success to the club, they deserve it.

Inspirational quotes: "I never lose. I either win or I learn" or "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard"
